The scope of work consisted on a second-story addition to an existing non-descriptive one-story 70's house in the traditional San Marino area. The challenge was met by repeating the "L" shaped floor plan above, but reducing the scale with a whole-story-high Dutch Gable roof, with charming dormer windows to the front that helped disguise the addition as a 'tall one-story structure'. The strict Design Review Board loved the solution, and approved it on the spot. |
