Location: Sherman Oaks, CA
Description: The scope of the project was limited to add more curb appeal, as well as a covered expansion to the back of a non-descriptive two-story house on a quiet street in Sherman Oaks. The owners were not happy with the preponderance the existing roof and the chimney had on the front of the house. A new veranda with railing and columns were added to the front, to control the scale of the entrance to the house. To increase the ‘charm’ level of the structure, two non-functional dormers were added [to minimize the scale of the roof and the chimney], and new siding, shutters and stone wainscot added additional warmth. The striking contrast between the before and after pictures are very eloquent as to the transformation of the house.
